The summer in Bournemouth has been unseasonably cool with routine sun, cloud, rain each day. Finally, toward the end of August we enjoyed a few warm and sunny beach days, where it would appear all seven miles of the sandy beaches came to life.
We had a great time frolicking in the surf.

We decided it would be fun to barbecue a steak on the Bournemuth beach. As you can see from Garry’s attire, it was a very cool and windy mid August evening.
After dinner, Garry decided to cool off the coals at the water’s edge, because Bournemouth has no place on the beach for hot coals. He turned his back for a couple of minutes, and the barbecue was swept away!
Despite our best efforts we did not recover it.
So if you are walking along Spanish Banks and find a barbecue – it could be ours.
Soon after, we witnessed one of nature’s best spectacles!
